Applying for Registration and Licensure in Nova Scotia

If you are applying for registration and licensing in Nova Scotia and were previously licensed as a health professional (in any regulated health profession) outside Nova Scotia, the NSRDDA requires that a completed Certificate of Standing form be sent to us. A Certificate of Standing must be sent directly to us from every jurisdiction where you are currently or were previously licensed to registration@nsrdda.ca.

Applying for Registration and Licensure Outside Nova Scotia

If you are applying for registration and licensure outside Nova Scotia and are or were previously licensed in this province, the regulatory body in the other jurisdiction will likely request that a Certificate of Standing be sent directly to them from jurisdictions where you were previously licensed.

The NSRDDA charges a $150 fee to produce a certificate of standing to be sent to the regulatory body in another jurisdiction. Please allow 10 business days for a Certificate of Standing to be produced and sent to the other regulatory body. (This timeframe could be extended during staff holidays.)

Which scenario applies to you?

If you are currently licensed in Nova Scotia: Log into the NSRDDA Alinity portal and complete the online Certificate of Standing Request (which will include online payment of the $150 fee.)

If you were recently licensed in Nova Scotia (since 2023) but not currently: Call our office at 902-420-0083 and ask to have your Alinity account reactivated so that you can log in and complete the online Certificate of Standing Request (which will include online payment of the $150 fee.)

If you were previously licensed in Nova Scotia prior to 2023: Complete the Certificate of Standing Request form and email it to registration@nsrdda.ca along with a completed and signed Credit Card Authorization form.

  • ensuring that only qualified individuals are licensed as dentist and dental assistants,
  • establishing standards of practice, and
  • dealing with complaints related to standards of care, professionalism, and ethics.”
