LETTER OF STANDING FOR DENTAL ASSISTANTS

Home 9 Licensees 9 Dental Assistants 9 Letter of Standing for Dental Assistants

If you are applying for a dental assisting licence outside Nova Scotia, the regulatory body in that jurisdiction will likely require you to have a “Letter of Standing” (also called a “Certificate of Standing”) sent from other jurisdictions where you were previously licensed.

You must consent for the NSRDDA to send a Letter of Standing about you to another regulatory body.

A Letter of Standing will include the following information about you:

  • Name
  • Registration number
  • Date of initial registration and licensure
  • Dates of any gaps in your licensure status
  • Compliance with Mandatory Continuing Dental Education requirements
  • History of complaints with outcomes
  • History of health issues negatively affecting your ability to practice safely

If you are currently licensed in Nova Scotia, you can log into the Alinity portal where you will see an area to request a Certificate of Standing.

If you are not currently licensed in Nova Scotia but were previously, please contact our office by phone at 902-420-0083 or by email at reception@nsrdda.ca and we will work through the process with you.

There is a $150 fee to process a request and produce a Letter or Certificate of Standing.
